If you hear bandwidths of 10 Megabits in, 5 megabits out, and think that that's the service you get in a third world country, this is not for you. This is for people who lust after 10 Megabit connections and can afford one or more consoles. This website shows you how to get creative with online games, and find ones they don't automatically get kicked off of.
Is the PS3 network only worth what you pay?
First of all, the only reason why I have a PS3 is becuase it was the world's cheapest Blu Ray player in 2008, and Dad at that time saw the HD DVD Vs. Blu Ray war start to tip towards Blu Ray, so a PS3 it was. I later found the Xbox 360 HD DVD PLayer and picked that up for cheap, as well as one HD DVD movie which didn't come out on Blu Ray until something like 2014. Dad bought another BluRay polayer and let me have the PS3 in 2012, when I bought my 3D TV, and I had the world's cheapest 3D player, the PS3.
All of my offline friends are Xbox Live friends, but literally ONE, Jamal "Zophar321" Nickens, was also a PS3 friend, all this despite the fact that the PS3 network is free. This might be due to the fact that the same Jamal won me and a bunch of other friends original Xboxes, and most got a 360 through inertia.
But I'll give this to the PS3, the machine can accurately makea 3D soundscape in either Dolby or DTS movies with a Turtle Beach X41 and a Toslink Wire. The Ps3, the Xbox 360 on HD DVDs, and the Xbox One have good DTS to Dolby conversion, becuase when I take a Turtle Beach X42 upstairs to my vanilla Blu Ray PLayer, the DTS movies have no sound. I tried to buy an HDMI-> Toslink adapter, but all it does is tranfer 2 track audio to the toslink headphones. There is no surround.
Game reviews and tests of online PS3 games
But since it was free, I was seeing what online games I'd play. The only games I active sought were either not available on Xbox 360 and Wii or 3D games. There were literally only 2 Games I bought for the online component, and only because at the time, there was no online verison for the 360 or the Wii. Both are download games, and both were no-brainer purchases, becuase Xbox 360's policy of requiring a demo on all download-only games made me try more, so there were few games I purchased online.
